The Valley Community Historical Society was formed in 1966 along with the historical museum which showcases many items of Valley's history. The Valley Museum is located in Valley's first school building from 1896. The museum is open on Sundays May through September from 1PM to 3PM and by appointment.

Notable Residents

Hugh Rhea
All-American tackle for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and played in the NFL in 1933. He owned the “Hugh Rhea Implement Company” in Valley.

Arthur E. Stoddard
Former President of Union Pacific Railroad. Arthur was also a World War I veteran. He worked his way through the ranks starting as a telegrapher.

Author Roberta "Gail" Rock
Film critic, youth novelist, and screen play author, Gail Rock grew up in Valley, Nebraska and graduated from UNL in 1961.

Served both as National President and President of the Department of Nebraska, American Legion Auxiliary.
