About Us
The Valley Community Historical Society was founded in 1966 by a small group of
individuals that had the foresight to preserve the history of Valley Nebraska.
On January 27 th 1967 the State of Nebraska recognized the Valley Community Historical
Society as Incorporated and Registered with the State signed and sealed by then Secretary
of State of Nebraska Frank Marsh.

Articles of Incorporation

The name of the Corporation is VALLEY COMMUNITY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, INCORPORATED
-
The Corporation shall commence business on the day these Articles are filed and recorded with the Secretary of the State of Nebraska, it shall have perpetual existence, unless sooner dissolved by law provided.

The general nature of the business, activities, objects and purpose tbe transacted, promoted or carried on by the Corporation are:
To bring together people who are interested in the history of Valley, Nebraska, and the surrounding community.
To encourage the understanding of the history of our community which is fundamental to our democratic way of life, and therefore give a better comprehension of our state and nation and thereby promote a better appreciation of our American heritage.
To honor our pioneer forefathers.
To inspire our successors in revering and preserving our heritage.
To discover and collect artistic, historic and cultural material representative of this region’s history.
To provide for the preservation of the aforementioned material and to make it accessible, as far as possible, to all who wish to examine or study it.
To disseminate historical information and arouse interest in the past by publication, by holding meetings with various forms of educational programs, and by means of radio and television.
To receive gifts, legacies and donations from any sources whatsoever.
To make gifts and appropriations from any or all of its resources from time to time to carry out the objects and purposes of the association.
To exercise all such power and authority as may be necessary to carry out the purpose and objects above specified.

The seal of this Corporation shall bear the inscription “VALLEY COMMUNITY HISTORICAL SOCIETY”.

The meeting place for the Corporation shall be the VALLEY COMMUNITY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, INCORPORATED building located at 218 West Alexander Street, Valley, Nebraska. The street address of the corporation’s initial registered office is 126 West Charles Street, Valley Nebraska, and the name of the corporation’s initial registered agent is Mrs. Marianne Nielsen at such address.

The number of directors of the Corporation is three and the addresses of the persons who are to serve as the initial directors are as follows:

The Corporation shall have no capitol stock and shall declare no dividends. Any income shall be expended under the direction of the Board of Directors in carrying out the purpose and objects of the Corporation.
The private property of the belabors of this Corporation shall not be subject to the payment of Corporation debts or liabilities to any extent whatever.
